We look after Lymptone’s history archive, which is housed in the Village Hall and accessed by our members. We also seek to disseminate local historical information through historical publications, occasional exhibitions and other projects, as well as our more regular programme of talks.
We encourage local residents and people with a connection to the village to share their historical records with us, and to use our archive to support any research they may wish to carry out about people, places and life in the village. We make history every day, and when people donate to our small archive we encourage them to include accurate (or approximate) dates and details wherever possible.
Membership
We operate a lifetime membership scheme for a flat-rate one-off payment of £10. This entitles members to receive:
- a reduced entry fee when attending our talks and events;
- our e-newsletter;
- email reminders of our talks and events;
- access to our archive store for research purposes (by arrangement).
We are always keen to welcome new members and for people to get involved with our projects, and with the running of the History Society. If you would be interested in getting involved, please contact us.
